This first edition of the Texas Focus Book Club will accent Alison Macor’s book, Chainsaws, Slackers, and Spy Kids – Thirty Years of Filmmaking in Austin, Texas, which looks at the Austin film industry beginning with the 1970s horror classic, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and concludes in the early 2000’s with Spy Kids.

A cinematic exploration of the Texas narrative, the Museum’s Texas Focus Film Series highlights stories by, for, and about Texans.
