Social Media Seminar
Note: This event is open to AMP individual and institutional members.
If you hear “Periscope” and can only conjure up images of submarines, or think that what happens on Snapchat shouldn’t be discussed in polite company, then our Social Media 201 seminar is for you. Join Alie Cline, Digital Content Strategist at the Blanton Museum of Art, as she breaks down how your museum can use these and other social media apps to engage new audiences. She’ll also discuss which types of users are on each of the various platforms, what types of content people are most likely to engage with, and Austin’s current social media landscape. Just a few weeks before Austin Museum Day, this is a great opportunity to pick up some new social media skills that could help you reach new audiences and attract more visitors.
Thursday, September 3, 1:30 – 3:00pm
Blanton Museum of Art (on the University of Texas Campus)
EAS Building (where the cafe and gift shop are, across from the main museum)
Capitol Room (2nd floor, across from the top of the stairs)
Free with your individual or institutional AMP membership.
In an effort to accommodate as many of our members as possible, we ask that each institution send only one person to the seminar. If you wish to send more than one, please email Erin at firstname.lastname@example.org and request to be placed on the waiting list. Additional attendees from member institutions will be added to the registration list if space allows.
Parking is available in the Brazos Garage on the UT campus for a discounted rate of $4. To get this discounted rate, you must take your parking pass to the Visitor Services desk in the museum.
