Opening Reception for “Brothers in Arms” Photo Exhibit

Join us for the opening reception of the Austin History Center’s newest exhibit, “Brothers in Arms: Forgotten Austinites of the Great War” on Wednesday, November 7 at 6:30 p.m. The exhibit, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One, explores the lives of a handful of Austin individuals and families impacted by the war. Moving past unemotional statistics, the images and stories in the exhibit attempt to account for the more significant fact that each one of them had a name, a family, friends and a community from which they drew a personal sense of what mattered. The reception is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.
