Midday Music Series
This collaboration between the Butler School of Music and the Blanton Museum of Art explores the connections between musical and artistic forms. Faculty and student musicians will perform work from a specific period of music history and will discuss with museum experts the relationship between musical and visual style.
This month, Mohinya performs string quartets by Beethoven, and other selected works. The musicians are participating in a residency to explore how to heighten individualism within the context of a chamber group. They will compare their artistic process to that of sixteenth-century chiaroscuro prints in the Julia Matthews Wilkinson Center for Prints and Drawings.
