Fifth Annual Easter Egg Design Contest & Dye-O-Rama

The fifth annual Easter Egg Design Contest & Dye-O-Rama will be held outdoors on the Centennial Terrace at the Neill-Cochran House Museum on Friday, March 29, from noon to 4:00 PM.  Children of all ages are invited to compete for prizes with their Easter egg designs.   Students from the University of Texas School of Fine Arts compete for prizes, too – in an advanced category!   In addition, everyone can learn the art of Ukrainian or Psyanky egg dyeing from Katy David who joins in again this year.  (Check out her website at http://www.katyegg.com/.)

The fruits of everyone’s effort will be donated to Ronald McDonald House to cheer families of patients who are away from home dealing with serious health issues.  Participating kids will have favors to take home in exchange for their decorated eggs.  Giving away something to a worthy cause makes the children feel that they are contributing to the greater good, and each year they do it cheerfully!

Eggs and supplies will be provided to all participants.  Parents are asked to chaperone their youngsters at this event. Parking is available behind the museum, free of charge.
