The Austin Toy Museum features primarily toys, playsets, comics and much more from the golden age of toys, the 1980’s & 1990’s and has of over 30,000 pieces from the world’s most famous toy lines like Barbie, GI Joe, Star Wars, Transformers, He-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Care Bears and much more. They are displayed in large dioramas letting the toys be in an eternal battle. With toys ranging all the way back to the late 1940s, you’re guaranteed to see a toy you had when you were a kid.
Our catch phrase is I Had That! and your certain to say it many times.
Love arcade games!!
If you love arcade games from the 1980’s, you will be please to know that the museum features some of the most popular arcade games of all time, including Dragon’s Lair, Space Invaders, Ms. Pacman, Asteroids, Donkey Kong and Street Fighter II. These games are the original hardware and will be set to “free play” for all paid admission visitors. Additionally, on a rotating basis in the video game hall, TV console systems will be set up including Atari, Nintendo and Sega. So come play Super Mario Brothers.
We currently are celebrating Star Trek’s 50th anniversary with a toy diorama and historical timeline display. Plus, come see the original Pokemon Go toys, cards and games that started the craze.
The Austin Toy Museum is an inexpensive and fun destination for families, kids of all ages and toy lovers to enjoy.
