Austin Children’s Museum

Looking for a unique and fun learning experience for your child? Visit the Austin Children’s Museum where kids learn as they play! The Museum provides exciting opportunities for children to develop their creative thinking skills with the support of the adults in their lives. Located on 2nd and Colorado in Downtown Austin, the museum is home to permanent exhibits such as En Mi Familia, Funstruction Zone, Global City and many more plus rotating feature exhibits. With over 200,000 visitors annually it is a tourist hotspot and a local favorite.

Featured exhibit Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and Ice; Encounter touchable dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes in their own prehistoric habitats. Investigate clues left behind by dinosaurs who roamed North America 70 million years ago.

Baby Bloomers & Cub Club – On Monday mornings from 9am-12pm and Saturday mornings from 9-10am, the Museum is open exclusively for 0-3 year olds. Discover the Museum’s exhibits in a relaxed atmosphere with other families with small children and enjoy special programming designed specifically for babies and toddlers, such as Little Explorers Lab, Storytime and Sing-a-long.

Discovery Time - Be a Scientist! Get Creative! Join us on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 pm.

Story Time - Story Time is offered every day from Tuesday – Saturday at 11am, 1pm and 3pm in the Global City Library.

Engineering Saturdays – On select Saturday mornings, students from The University of Texas’s Cockrell School of Engineering are sure to get your mental gears turning!

Science Sundays - Discover the fascinating world of science with special guests on Science Sundays at the Museum! Don’t forget, the Museum is free from 4pm – 5pm on Sundays so come and enjoy some science!

Community Night - The Museum stays open late EVERY Wednesday night for families to enjoy our exhibits and Storytime. Admission is by donation.
