About

The Austin Museum Partnership extends to the Austin community and its visitors a warm welcome to visit Austin’s museums and explore the unique buildings, rich collections and programs and the host of diverse activities to be discovered!

The membership includes art and science museums; historic sites and history museums; nature preserves, natural habitats, and botanical gardens; science, and art repositories; a presidential library; a children’s museum; a museum about Texas music; and the spectacular Texas State Capitol.

Among other projects, in 1998 the Austin Museum Partnership launched Austin Museum Day, a community event which offers free admission and includes special programs and activities at most sites. Austin Museum Day for 2011 will take place on Sunday, September 25.

The purpose of the organization is to promote and facilitate collaborations within the museum community for the mutual benefit of the public and the museums. AMP is a regional member of the Texas Association of Museums (TAM).
