it's all right here in Austin, Texas!
Among other projects, the Austin Museum Partnership launched Austin Museum Day in 1998 that was attended by over 10,000 people. Now with attendance nearing 30,000, the tenth annual Austin Museum Day will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2007 - click

Formed in January 1998, the Austin Museum Partnership, a consortium
of area museums and historic sites, is organizing the celebration.
The purpose of the organization is to promote and facilitate collaborations
within the museum community for the mutual benefit of the public
